The play chosen for production will have a limited all-student cast and may go off-campus into the community with performances in a child-focused environment (i.e. The readings will have a 1-week rehearsal process culminating in a reading that is open to the public. One (1) play will be selected for a workshop production in the Theater Emory season, and two (2) plays will receive readings. We are excited to be partnering with the Hangar Theatre’s KIDDSTUFF program ( ) and other TYA companies! The Brave New Works festival of new and evolving plays gives playwrights and other theatremakers, a laboratory to work with a director, actors, and other creative artists, to revise and rewrite their scripts, and share the resulting work with members of the Emory and Atlanta communities and beyond. BNW provides theater professionals and students with the space and resources to conduct creative experimentation as part of the process of creating new works for the stage. In Spring 2024 the Playwriting Center of Theater Emory will produce Brave New Works (BNW), a three-week theatrical developmental workshop. For three weeks, the Brave New Works festival of new and evolving plays gives playwrights a laboratory to work with a director and actors, revise and rewrite their scripts, and share the results with members of the Emory and Atlanta community.īRAVE NEW WORKS 2024: PROFESSIONAL SUBMISSIONS This festival provides theater professionals and students with the space and resources to conduct creative experimentation, create new works for the stage, and test the dramatic product on an audience.
